Geez, put some chrome trim rings on there and it will look like a Peterbilt dash, then all you will need is a set of polished rims and you\'ll be set!
Looks good!

PMFP ...  A stapler would definitely make it the complete package Pard !!!

Seriously though, that\'s a real nice piece of work.  You\'re gonna love having everything \'right where you want it\'.  My only question is, do you travel or do people have to bring the work to you ?
 :D

ps: hope you\'re feelin\' better man. Get out on the water for an afternoon. It\'s just the cure for what ails ya !!!

Get a multi-meter or voltage tester and see if you have power at the coil with the key on.  Since everything was fine before you did the work on the dash, chances are that is where the problem is.  Possibly one of the wires is off of, or poorly connected at the ignition switch.  It might be the wire that is going to send the voltage to the coil.

Do ya have a NAPA auto parts store locally?  They usually have a pretty good selection of marine parts on hand and can have them in the store in a day or so if they don\'t.

Well, up here they stock em anyhow, worth a try ...

Hmmm....   not the starter, all it does is crank the engine.  It\'s not tied into the ignition spark at all.  Maybe the coil went belly up?  Either that or something is grounding the coil.

Leave the cap off distributor, and crank the motor for a second, just watch to see if rotor moves while cranking.

Yeah I would\'ve expected the rotor is turning, the problem is before the spark reaches the distributor cap since ya don\'t have any spark from the coil.  Still seems like something is grounding the spark @ the coil.

Oddly enough I have a strange one with one of the engines on my boat.  But I can live with it the rest of the season.  Then engine I had replaced.  When cranking the engine, there\'s no fire until right when I release the key.  Then it fires fine.  It\'s like when in the crank position, it is grounding out or the voltage to the coil is dropping or  something?  As soon as it is released from the crank position, it starts.  The mechanic that swapped motors blames it on a faulty ignition switch.  I can\'t say that\'s not it but it\'s odd I didn\'t have this until the engine was changed.  It could be a co-incidence but as a rule I don\'t believe in co-incidences.  I have another motor next to it so I need to make sure the coil and solenoids are wired correctly first I reckon.  If they are the same as the other engine, then I\'ll toss a different ignition switch in it.

There is a reason I brought up that rambling story!!!  You said you have voltage at the coil with the key on.  Maybe have someone turn the key and see if the voltage goes away when it is put into the crank position?  It might be something along the lines of what I am seeing here.  Maybe the ignition switch is bad?  It could\'ve been border line and taking it out to move it was enough to send it over the edge?

Like I said, I don\'t believe in co-incidences and this problem occurred when you re-did the dash.  That leads me to think the problem might well be up in that area.
